Advantages of Endoscope Monitor

Enhanced Precision & Image Quality: Modern monitors often utilize 4K or 8K resolution, which restores depth perception and clarity that are traditionally lost in narrow endoscopic views. This allows surgeons and technicians to easily distinguish minute structures, such as small nerves, capillaries, and cell boundaries.

Advanced Imaging Technologies: Many endoscopic monitor systems support special imaging modes like Narrow-Band Imaging (NBI) or infrared capabilities, which highlight vascular patterns and can aid in the early detection of cancer and other diseases.

Ergonomics & Fatigue Reduction: Viewing a large, elevated screen enables medical professionals to maintain a comfortable, neutral posture during long procedures, significantly reducing neck and eye strain compared to looking through traditional optical eyepieces.

Team Collaboration & Education: Displaying the procedure on a monitor allows the entire medical or inspection team to view the work in real-time. It also provides an excellent educational viewpoint for students to learn exactly from the operator's perspective.

Components of Endoscope Monitor

The imaging system includes: The endoscopic camera unit, Endoscopic Light Source, Endoscope Light guide, endoscopic camera, and medical monitor. It is the core of the endoscopic system, responsible for illuminating, acquiring, processing, transmitting, and displaying endoscopic images.

Laparoscope: Laparoscopes come in diameters of 10mm and 5mm, with viewing angles of 0°, 30°, 45°, and 70°.

CO2 Insufflator system: This includes pneumoperitoneum needles and a pneumoperitoneum machine. The pneumoperitoneum system creates surgical space by injecting carbon dioxide gas into the abdominal cavity.

Surgical Instruments: There are many types of instruments, commonly including dissecting forceps, grasping forceps, scissors, needle holders, trocars, and electrocautery hooks. The choice depends on the surgical needs and the surgeon's habits.

Endoscopy Irrigation Pump and Suction System: This is a crucial system for maintaining a clear surgical field.

Electronic surgical Unit: This provides various forms of energy to perform operations such as cutting and hemostasis.

Working principle of Endoscope Monitor

Illumination

An external cold light source transmits light down the endoscope via fiber-optic bundles to illuminate the internal target area.

Image Capture

An objective lens at the tip of the endoscope focuses the reflected light onto a micro image sensor—typically a CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) or CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) chip.

Signal Processing

The sensor converts the optical image into electrical signals. A video processor decodes and converts these signals into high-resolution binary digital data.

Display

The processor sends this digital data to the endoscope monitor, which displays a reconstructed, full-color, real-time video, allowing the clinician to perform diagnostics or surgery.

Clinical Applications of Endoscope Monitor

Endoscopic Monitors for Gastroscopy: Medical endoscopy monitors provide stable and clear visualization of the upper gastrointestinal tract to support reliable lesion detection.

Colonoscopy Polyp Detection: Utilize the clear imaging and real-time stability of medical endoscopy monitors to support accurate polyp detection.

Bronchoscopy Imaging Monitors: Smooth, real-time imaging on medical endoscopy monitors helps in the clear assessment of the airways and lungs.

Rigid Laryngoscopy Monitors: Endoscopy monitors are used for high-resolution vocal cord assessment to support precise evaluation for otolaryngological surgery.

Cystoscopy Urological Monitoring: Medical endoscopy monitors employ enhanced contrast and clarity technology to assist in bladder and urethral examinations.

Ureteroscopy Imaging: Detailed imaging on endoscopy monitors helps in the evaluation of urinary system stones and biopsies, thus providing safe urological care.

Hysteroscopy: Medical endoscopy monitors allow for clearer visualization of the uterus and cervical canal, improving accuracy.

FAQ

Q: Can the endoscopy monitor reduce eye fatigue for surgeons during long procedures?

A: Yes. Flicker-free screens, wide viewing angles, and low latency on Full HD and 4K endoscopy monitors are specified to reduce eye strain and maintain surgeon comfort during extended operations

Q: How are endoscopy monitors protected against liquid and dust contamination in the operating room?

A: Optical bonding and sealed AR-coated glass are applied to prevent liquid and dust intrusion and to meet IEC 60601-1 medical safety standards, supporting OR hygiene.

Q: How do medical endoscopy monitors maintain image stability over time?

A: Luminance stabilization and DICOM calibration are built into each monitor to keep brightness and grayscale accuracy consistent over prolonged clinical use, supporting reliability and QA.

Q: Can the endoscopy monitor be mounted on surgical arms or carts?

A: Yes. Reshin endoscopy monitors are VESA-compatible (100×100/200×200); mounting on surgical arms, carts, or wall systems is supported to provide flexibility for operating rooms, endoscopy carts, and hybrid OR setups.
